The MBTI questionnaire provides a very insightful framework for personal, group and couple development. It enhances self-awareness and enables people to identify how they are different from others, and how they can improve their working and personal relationships in an affirming and constructive manner.

An indicator of interpersonal style, the FIRO-B questionnaire measures how a person typically behaves towards others and how that person would like others to behave towards them. This tool measures these behaviours across three categories, Inclusion, Control and Affection and is helpful in achieving productive relationships.

A robust trait-based measure of personality, the 16PF instrument is one of the most accurate predictors of human behaviour, and is based on over 50 years of research and testing. The 16 factors are:

  2. Reasoning – Extent to which you can solve numerical and verbal problems
  3. Emotional Stability – How calmly you respond to life’s demands
  4. Dominance – Tendency to assert influence and/or control others
  5. Liveliness – How freely and spontaneously you will express yourself
  6. Rule-Consciousness – How much value is placed on externally imposed rules
  7. Social Boldness – How much at ease you feel in social situations
  8. Sensitivity – Extent to which emotions and sentiments influence outlook and judgement
  9. Vigilance – The extent to which you are cautious of others’ motives
  10. Abstractedness – How much attention is given to abstract rather than concrete observations
  11. Privateness – How much you like to keep personal information to yourself
  12. Apprehension – How much you are prone to self-criticism
  13. Openness to Change – Extent to which you enjoy new situations and experiences
  14. Self-Reliance – How much you enjoy your own company and trust your own judgement

The Innovation Potential Indicator looks at behaviours that affect how new ideas, processes and products are generated, developed and implemented. For organisations fuelled by new ideas and constant change, this assessment bridges the gap between what you know about someone in the present and their future potential for innovation and creativity.

The original definition of trait EI on which the TEIQue is based is ‘a constellation of emotional self perceptions (located at the lower levels of personality).’ In other words, trait EI covers perception of how well we deal with emotions. These perceptions play a critical role in our thoughts, feelings and behaviours and therefore influence our effectiveness and performance in everyday life. The TEIQue will help you identify how to thrive in a dynamic, changing environment. It can also identify the areas you may wish to develop going forward. And because emotionally intelligent managers have fine-tuned people management skills, their teams tend to perform well, they are motivated and have high morale, which contributes to staff loyalty and high retention.

The Watson Glaser Critical Thinking Appraisal assesses the individual’s capability for critical thinking – a discrete skill distinct from, but not independent of, overall intelligence. Critical thinking is the ability to recognise that a problem exists and to look for evidence to solve it. It is the ability to assess this evidence in a logical way in order to determine new knowledge and direction. But far more than that, it is seen as a great skill required of all leaders today. This makes it an ideal assessment at the manager / senior manager level.
